What Groundwork. collects

Groundwork. collects information you provide through enabled platform workflows and public partnership inquiries. We use this information to provide the requested workflow, evaluate potential partnerships, and respond to you. We do not pull data from third parties without your knowledge.

"Shared" means disclosed to another organization or person. Partnership inquiry information is provided to authorized Groundwork personnel for review and follow-up and may be processed by service providers that support hosting, storage, and email delivery on Groundwork's behalf. Your counselor or BDO organization may have visibility into your progress as part of their program — this is disclosed at enrollment.

Documents and financial information

Groundwork. may provide document workflow features when enabled by the institution or platform configuration. When enabled, borrowers may upload requested documents through secure workflows, documents may be processed to extract information, and extracted information may be used within the application workflow.

Who can see your data

Partnership inquiry information is available to authorized Groundwork personnel responsible for evaluating and responding to potential partnerships. Service providers may process this information on Groundwork's behalf to support hosting, storage, and email delivery. Within the platform, Groundwork. has three user types — Borrower, Organization (counselor/BDO), and Loan Officer. Each sees only what is appropriate to their role.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide Groundwork. workflows, support lender readiness, and evaluate and respond to potential partnership inquiries.

  To power your dashboard — Your business data populates your modules, health score, readiness score, and business plan draft.

  To generate your credit presentation — The business side of your credit memo is auto-populated from your module data. The information included depends on the enabled workflow and applicable disclosures.

  To support your counselor — If enrolled through an organization, your counselor can see your progress to provide better guidance.

  To evaluate partnership inquiries — If you submit an inquiry, authorized Groundwork personnel use the contact, organization, program, and goals information you provide to evaluate fit and follow up with you about a potential partnership.

  To improve the platform — We may use anonymized, aggregated data (never individually identifiable) to improve Groundwork. features and content.

  We do not use your data for advertising — We do not serve ads. We do not allow advertisers to target you based on your data. Ever.

  We do not sell your data — Your information is never sold to data brokers, lenders, marketers, or any third party.

Your rights

You have full control over your data. Here is what you can request at any time:

  Access your data — Request a complete export of everything Groundwork. has stored about you.

  Correct your data — Update profile information through the platform where available, or contact us to correct partnership inquiry information.

  Request deletion — Ask Groundwork. to delete your account or information. We will process the request according to applicable data-handling procedures.

  Withdraw consent — You can withdraw consent for your data to be shared with your counselor organization at any time.

  Know what is shared — You will always be informed before any of your data is shared with a lender or third party.

Legal compliance

Groundwork. is designed to comply with applicable federal and state privacy laws. Our approach is built around data minimization — we collect what is necessary for enabled platform workflows and describe applicable document processing and sharing in the relevant disclosures.

Groundwork. is not a financial institution, lender, or credit reporting agency. We do not make lending decisions. This platform is a business development and loan readiness tool.
